Professional Bio
Glenn, or Trey as he prefers to be called, started his road to education with an undergraduate degree in design from North Carolina State University. After graduating he worked in construction, working in both residential and commercial construction for several years, before hearing the call to teaching. It was then that Trey began teaching at a rural high school in Sampson County, NC while also working on his masters degree in technology education at North Carolina State University. With his background in design creativity, problem-solving, design, and design process are naturally at the heart of his instruction.Throughout his 25 years in education, Trey has worked with middle and high school students. Trey has been a leader in and out of the classroom. His students have been active with TSA and the EV Challenge, finding much success in both arenas. Within his school Trey has served as department chair, a member of the school improvement team, and a mentor teacher. Outside the classroom and school he has worked on curriculum development projects. Trey is also a member of Epsilon Pi Tau and a member of ITEEA, ACTE, and NCTEDE. Outside of public education, Trey is a practicing artist and a drawing and painting instructor.Trey currently lives in his hometown of Wilmington, NC and teaches at New Hanover High School in Wilmington where he’s been for over 10 years.
