Claussen/ITEEA Foundation Memorial Scholarship
Providing funding to an outstanding student for the ITEEA Annual Conference.

Description: A $300 scholarship created in memory of Larry Claussen, former technology teacher, TEECA advisor, mentor, and friend. Dr. Larry Claussen was born August 12, 1944 in Luverne, MN. He graduated from Valley Springs (SD) High School in 1962, earned a bachelor’s degree from Southern State Teachers College in 1966, Larry’s life passion was working with young people – this was evidenced by 40-plus years in education, teaching junior high to college-level students in Springfield, SD, Hector, MN, Sioux Falls, SD, the University of Nebraska-Kearney, and Wayne State College (NE). He was active in ITEEA and TEECA, where he served as national advisor and served on the Board of Directors 2001-2003. This scholarship’s purpose is to encourage professional development participation of undergraduate junior and senior TEECA members at the annual ITEEA Conference. The successful applicant will receive $300 to offset the expenses of attending the annual ITEEA Conference.
The scholarship is presented during the ITEEA Annual Conference. The winner must be present to receive the scholarship.
Criteria:
- Applicant must be an ITEEA member and register for the ITEEA Annual Conference. (Membership may be enclosed with scholarship application.)
- Applicant must be an undergraduate junior or senior TEECA member preparing to become a technology and/or engineering education teacher in Grades K-12.
- Applicant must attend Maley "Spirit of Excellence" Breakfast at which award is presented.
- Applicants must submit a completed application form, including TEECA advisor recommendation.
