High School Engineering byDesign College Credits

High school students enrolled in the Engineering byDesign™ (EbD™) program have an opportunity to earn three transcripted college credits through St. Cloud State University. This initiative recognizes students' hard work and dedication in mastering engineering and technology principles. To qualify, students must achieve a grade of B or higher in any EbD™ course or pass the course-specific post-assessment with a minimum score.

This program is designed to give students a significant head start on their college education, boosting their confidence and preparedness for higher education. Research shows that early college experiences can greatly enhance students' readiness for college, with approximately 84% of participants feeling more prepared after engaging in such programs1.

"We are proud to partner with ITEEA to offer this unique opportunity to high school students," said Kurt Helgeson, Professor of Engineering Technology Education at St. Cloud State University. “By providing transcripted college credits for Engineering byDesign courses, we are helping to bridge the gap between high school and higher education. This initiative rewards students for their hard work and achievements and encourages them to pursue further studies in STEM fields.”

This collaboration between ITEEA and St. Cloud State University is a testament to the commitment to fostering educational excellence and innovation. It opens doors for students, supports parents in guiding their children's educational journey, and equips teachers with tools to inspire and motivate their students.
